Que es Monti’s Coquito? *

Monti’s Coquito began as a passion project during college. In 2023, the journey started with selling coquito bottles during the holiday season, relying solely on word of mouth around campus. At first, coquito was sold out of the trunk of a car, but as word spread, more and more bottles were shared, and within two months, over fifty bottles were sold.

By the second year, that initial word-of-mouth foundation was paired with a growing online presence. Between returning customers and new ones discovering the brand via social media, sales doubled. In year three, with both avenues flourishing, Monti’s Coquito partnered with local vendors and hosted a pop-up event, which was promoted online and saw an incredible turnout. A second location was added in South Orlando to meet demand, while the original focus remained in North Orlando. Now, the brand is ready to expand into the New York market, and the future is bright.

The name "Monti" is a nod to the founder’s last name, Montañez. Growing up, Monti became a natural nickname, one that carried through the years. When it came time to name the brand, Monti just felt right.

Creator & founder

Monti’s Coquito was built from the ground up. Early on, everything from social media to promotion was handled independently while the brand was getting started. As it grew, friends from Vision helped with videography and visuals, while graphic design support came from Ashley Montañez aka my sister.

Behind the scenes, the recipe was developed hand in hand con mami, Myrna Perez, working together to refine the flavor and create the coquito that defines the brand today.
